
Michael J. DeLane
Fireman Michael J. DeLane, badge #387, was appointed on 5/2/1988 and was assigned to Engine 13. On 2/6/1989, he transferred to Rescue 1. In 1991, F/M DeLane received two commendations for bravery and saving a life. At Station 3241, while fighting a fatal two-alarm fire on 10/29/1994, he and another firefighter on an aerial came in contact with a live wire. Although both men were electrocuted, F/M DeLane came in contact with the wire a second time and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was 33 years old at the time of his death.
